3-year Supervisor at Earl Grey
“In 2017 I worked at Earl Grey golf club in Calgary and ended up working in a supervising role for 3 years there. This gave me insight into how golf courses are run at the base level, both in terms of maintenance and operations. I believe there are plenty of improvements that could be made to golf courses for the purpose of increasing appeal that could be easily accommodated on the maintenance side.
I have also been a casual golfer since the age of 11 when my parents put me into a golf camp. We ended up playing on a 9-hole par-3 course every day for a week. This was a great amount of time on the course to keep the interest of the kids that age without getting bored. Not to mention the par-3 nature of the course made it easier for the kids to get the ball to the hole in a reasonable amount of time, since we couldn't drive 250 yards at that age. If youth are to get more involved in the game, there needs to be changes to accommodate their abilities.”
